This year NEET will be held on 3rd of May for which many aspirants have been preparing throughout the year. Hoping to score best result in NEET 2020, aspirants are putting their optimum efforts and following variety of tips and tricks that will guide them through effective preparation strategy.

Now that many of you have already completed the syllabus, the time has come to start the revision. Many aspirants create detailed time tables and preparation strategy because of which they are able to cover the syllabus on time, but we cannot underestimate the importance of strategies at the time of revision as well.

Revision is one of the most important parts when it comes to succeeding in NEET. Along with best study material for PMT which is an absolute necessity at the time of revision, you require some added great tips that will guide you through the last few days before exam-

1. Change your time-table

Yes! This is the time when you need to make necessary changes to your time table. Earlier you had to complete the entire syllabus so your time table must have been a whole lot of stress (which was undoubtedly important). Now you need to divide your time table in 4 slots in which you will have to dedicate 3 hours of revision in each slot, and add a good one hour break between every slot. In each revision slot you will cover the three NEET subjects which are- Physics, Chemistry and Biology. You also need to dedicate one slot for solving previous year questions/mock tests for all three subjects.

2. Recognize your mistakes

When aspirants solve mock tests/test series they often make mistakes in various questions. This makes them aware of where they are still lacking. It is advised to make a note of these mistakes and work separately on them. This way you will get a grip on your mistakes and the next time when you will solve the same question or problem you would know how to avoid the mistake.

3. Create revision notes

During self-study, creating notes is one of the most important steps of revision. This habit will help you revise the entire syllabus effectively without having to go back and scan through every chapter and topic.

Below mentioned are few steps that will help you in making useful notes-

  • Make notes in your own words

Notes that are in your own words are easier to relate with and can be understood better. Simplifying the words from complex language and converting difficult terms to simpler forms increases the retaining of knowledge. It is also advised that instead of taking notes from your friends you should always prefer making your own notes, as you can easily understand them during the revision time.

  • Use colored pens

Notes that are made in different colors are more interesting to read and give better understanding. You can highlight the heading with a different ink pen, whereas the subheadings and pointers can be in another color ink. This helps you in distinguishing the notes and also to remember them much better.

  • Use self-created abbreviations

Abbreviations are the short terms that can be created to easily remember the topic. When you need to remember too many points in a single answer then you can pick up the first alphabet of every word and make an abbreviated form of it. Or to remember the points in fixed chronology you can use your very own version of it for example “My Very Educated Mother Just Showed Us Nine Planets” is commonly used to remember the chronology of planets in the solar system.

  • Mark your doubts

Even when you have studied the entire syllabus and doing your final revision still there are chances to have some doubts, but you don’t need to fret about it. You can mark those doubts or note them somewhere separately after which you can take help from your teacher or mentor to resolve them at once.

4. Take at least 8 hours of sleep

Many students suffer with anxiety as the time comes close of appearing in the test. But you don’t have to let it overpower your mental peace. To keep yourself both mentally as well as physically health a good sleep is important to have. If you don’t have a fresh mind then not just your revision time will be hampered but also it will affect the result of you NEET exam.
